Special-purpose crane winches are advanced technical solutions that form an integral part of large cranes, such as gantry cranes and overhead bridge cranes. They typically consist of a steel framework in the form of a trolley equipped with a traveling mechanism, on which lifting mechanisms – hoists, rope drums, and their drives – are mounted.

Special winches are used in applications where standard market solutions are insufficient. Their design is developed individually, taking into account the crane’s characteristics and the operating environment – for example, winches designed for explosive atmospheres or highly corrosive conditions.
