Special inspections of cranes
Devices that have reached their service life utilization (resurs) are required to undergo a special inspection or technical condition assessment. A special inspection is performed by a competent individual and aims to evaluate the device's condition, identify areas requiring repair or modernization, and ultimately determine the next service life value for the equipment. The guidelines for conducting special inspections are defined in the UDT Guidelines for the Operation of Material Handling Equipment, dated June 28, 2019.
At Przedsiębiorstwo HAK Sp. z o.o., special inspections are carried out by a qualified team using professional equipment. The inspection covers all elements that impact the safe operation of the device.
Scope of services:
- inspection of the device or mechanism and associated equipment, depending on whether the service life utilization pertains to the device or a specific mechanism,
- inspection of device components, including: load-bearing structures, mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, safety systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems,
- geometric measurements of the device, including deformation measurements of the load-bearing structure, with specified measurement methods and estimated errors,
- checking the condition of detachable connections, including torque testing of bolted joints,
- non-destructive testing (e.g., of welded joints and load-bearing components),
- verification of gear conditions, including necessary measurements of backlash, radial runout, shaft fatigue cracks, etc.,
- thickness measurements of load-bearing elements in corroded areas, with an assessment of their impact on structural strength,
- recommendations to ensure further safe operation of the equipment, such as: repairs, modernizations, overhauls, guidelines for operational use (e.g., changes in maintenance frequency, frequency of non-destructive testing, need for modernization),
- determination of the next service life value for the equipment (following recommended repairs and modernizations),
We offer comprehensive special inspection services with short lead times and competitive pricing.
