Special Solution - Automated System for Alternative Fuel Storage

The automated system, consisting of two devices equipped with grabs, is designed for handling the storage and retrieval of material in an alternative fuel storage facility.

The storage of problematic materials—those harmful to health—requires a solution that minimizes direct human involvement in managing the operation of the equipment. For the alternative fuel storage facility—especially for dusty materials—a system of two cranes equipped with grabs has been developed, allowing for the handling and movement of material within a closed, automatically controlled system managed externally.

FEATURES OF THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL STORAGE

  • The system is based on the cooperation of two double-girder overhead cranes, each equipped with a double-bucket grab designed for bulk material transport.
  • The tandem operation of the cranes occurs in an automated mode, pre-programmed from above, with the operator's control room positioned outside the storage area due to high dust levels.
  • The system is activated on the operator's request when there is a need to store or retrieve fuel in the facility.
  • The grabs of the cranes collect material from the hopper and place it in available storage spaces within the warehouse.
  • Available storage spaces are automatically located using sensors and scanners mounted on both devices.
  • Material loading onto the conveyor, where it is picked up by a truck, is also automated.
  • The system ensures the transfer of 90 cubic meters of fuel from any location in the warehouse to the conveyor within 15 minutes while maintaining the operational resource for GNP A6.
  • The system can be configured in various sizes and load capacities.
