RAILS ON RUBBLE - COMPONENTS
ABOUT THE SYSTEM
There are three different cross-ties used on rubble:
- wooden cross-ties
- reinforced concrete cross-ties
- prestressed concrete cross ties of
Rails are fixed to the wooden cross-ties with bolted bonds or spring clamps.
Stages of the crane runway installation:
- Excavation of the crane runway channel, filling it with rubble
- Laying of the crane runway pavement
- Runway lining and covering
RAIL PADS
Rail pads distribute the wheel load over a larger area under the rail. In this way the load concentrations are reduced event of 50%. That reduces local stresses which cause many problems in crane runway exploitation (bad alignment, wheels falling from the rail, excessive wear of the rail head etc.).
