RAILS ON CONCRETE – COMPONENTS
ABOUT THE SYSTEM
Flexible rail mounting system was design in order to simplify the installation and to cut the costs of crane rails exploitation. This method consist of using special pads put under the foot of the rail and special clips with the elastomer ‘nose’ that fix the rail to the support structure.
With such solution the rail is securely fixed but with the possibility of side regulation during the installation and exploitation period.
To install rails on concrete we use also special mineral or epoxy grouts for filling the gap between the sole plate and the concrete supporting structure.
Advantages of the flexible rail mounting system:
- rail is securely fixed to the supporting structure,
- it prolongs crane rails exploitation time,
- it prolongs crane wheels and crane traveling mechanisms’ life,
- easy rails’ regulation during exploitation,
- easy rails’ replacement,
- it reduces friction between rail and supporting structure,
- it reduces considerably the stress on the rail supporting structure,
- it reduces noise level and vibrations what makes crane operating more comfortable,
- crane runway realignment is possible without welding, rails’ spacing correction is easier and quicker.
FIXING CLIPS
With fixing clips crane rail is fixed securely to the supporting structure. It allows side regulation of rails within the values shown in the characteristic. The range of regulation is limited – otherwise the rail could get dangerously far from the web of crane runway beam. Clips are self locking.
Clips’ name
If the clip names 9216/08/40/17 the numbers mean
- 9 – clip type,
- 2 – quantity of fixing bolts,
- 16 – bolt dimension M16,
- 08 –side regulation range,
- 40 – clip height (without bolt)
- 17 – rubber block height (not squeezed)

RAIL PADS
Rail pads distribute the wheel load over a larger area under the rail. In this way the load concentrations are reduced event of 50%. That reduces local stresses which cause many problems in crane runway exploitation (bad alignment, wheels falling from the rail, excessive wear of the rail head etc.).

CRANE RAILS
Not everyone knows that rail has its beginning and end, right and left side and many other characteristic features. Our duty is to choose the right rail (taking into consideration both technical and economical issues) and deliver it to the Customer in expected period of time.
