Overhead cranes

Overhead cranes are the most universal and widely used type of cranes. They are employed
in industrial facilities across various sectors, efficiently addressing the transport and lifting of
different types of loads, as well as handling loads in various technological processes.
Overhead cranes can achieve various load capacities, travel speeds, and lifting speeds, and
the proper adjustment of these parameters allows the crane to cover large areas of
production or warehouse halls.

HAK Sp. z o.o. offers all types of overhead cranes – single-girder and double-girder
overhead cranes, suspension overhead cranes, as well as special overhead cranes, also
known as technological or process cranes. Our devices are built from the ground up, starting
with an assessment of the customer's needs and technological process requirements,
followed by design, production, delivery, installation, and commissioning.

All overhead cranes are subject to the provisions of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC –
compliance with its requirements is confirmed by the CE marking on the crane and the
accompanying Declaration of Conformity.

Overhead Crane – Device Selection

The basic structure of overhead cranes consists of a bridge composed of one or two girders.
The crane's bridge is supported by end trucks, which, equipped with travel mechanisms,
move the bridge along the runway. Depending on the construction of the end trucks, we
distinguish between overhead travelling cranes and suspension cranes. On the girder(s) of
the overhead crane, a single or double lifting mechanism – either a hoist or a winch – is
mounted. The choice between a travelling and a suspension crane generally depends on the
hall's construction and the required lifting height, while the choice between a hoist and a
winch depends on the crane’s load capacity and the type of loads being lifted.

Selecting an overhead crane requires adjusting its parameters to meet production needs.
These parameters will also determine features such as the crane's travel speed, hoist travel
speed, lifting speed, and the duty cycle of the overhead crane.

Together with overhead cranes, we supply complete power systems and crane equipment,
such as grabs, buckets, spreader bars, and lifting clamps. In addition to installing and
commissioning overhead cranes, we also arrange crane inspection by UDT (Office of
Technical Inspection) and provide training on crane operation. At our company, the price is in
line with quality. All projects come with both warranty and post-warranty support, and we offer
maintenance services for overhead cranes from various manufacturers.
